About 600 graduates from 21 cities of Kazakhstan applied for participation in Samruk-Kazyna internship programme

Samruk-Kazyna JSC has summed up the results of Zhas Orken Internship programme final evaluation, which was held in Astana on August 24, 2017. 20 out of the 28 candidates who successfully passed three preliminary stages, became participants in the program. The shortlisted names were selected by the Evaluation commission during the panel interview.

The commission included managing directors of Samruk-Kazyna JSC and the Fund group of companies, employees of Zhas Orken internship programme and independent observers. The programme’s website https://www.skcu.kz/zhasorken/  and social networks covered an online broadcast of the final evaluation stage.

Ulan Tazhibayev, Managing Director for Human Resources Management and Communications of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, commented:

"The purpose of Zhas Orken internship programme is to stimulate youth. Thanks to this project we have created conditions for career growth of each participant of the programme through the individual development plan. The final stage saw the best candidates. These graduates, as a rule, already have experience of participation in large competitions, the implementation of successful academic projects in Kazakhstan and foreign universities. All of them are winners of the olympiads, they have so many different achievements. At the same time, we have evaluated the candidates not only in term of their knowledge but also their motivation and values, if they are really the future leaders and professionals who are able to lead people, introduce new ideas and apply their talents and knowledge to the benefit of society."

According to the results of competition, the interns will undertake a course at Samruk-Kazyna Corporate University and Deloitte Education Center in Moscow, after which they will intern at the national companies of Kazakhstan - JSC KazMunayGas NC, NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC, NAC Kazatomprom JSC, Tau-Ken Samruk JSC, Kazakhtelecom JSC, NC Kazakhstan Engineering JSC, United Chemical Company LLP, Air Astana JSC, Kazpost JSC and Samruk –Energy JSC.

 The duration of the training programme is three weeks, internship - 20 months, five months at four different enterprises of Samruk-Kazyna JSC. During this period, scholarship, travel and accommodation expenses will be paid.

It should be noted, Samruk-Kazyna JSC has announced competition among university graduates for participation in Zhas Orken Internship Programme to attract, select, train and develop talented graduates in April 2017. 2017 bachelor’s and master’s degree holders were invited to take part in the programme. 
The applications from graduates were accepted online from 3 April to 3 July 2017. The graduates from 55 Kazakhstani and foreign universities submitted the applications for participation in the four-stage evaluation including 21 from Kazakhstan universities, 11-CIS countries universities, 13 - Europe (including 6 - Great Britain), 9 - Asia, 2 - USA and Australia.

The first three qualifying stages were held from July 5 to August 18 in Almaty, Astana, Aktobe, Oskemen and Shymkent. The selection stages included a motivation essay and business skills assessment, verbal and numerical tests, group assignments for the implementation of business cases, an independent decision making over business tasks, and individual competence interview. The candidates were evaluated by professional interviewers and specially invited observers - representatives of NC KazMunayGas JSC, Kazakhtelecom JSC, Kazpost JSC, Samruk-Energy JSC, NC KTZ JSC and Air Astana JSC.
