Total value of equity for 106 assets of privatization program is approximately 700 billion Tenge. This was announced during online-conference in the BNews.kz studio by the financial director – Member of the Management board of the “Samruk-Kazyna” JSC Nurlan Rakhmetov. 

“If we take all 106 assets, which are included in the second stage of privatization, their aggregate value of equity is about 700 billion Tenge. This is their book value. If we look at 64 assets, which are scheduled to be divested by the end of 2014, their equity is about 5 billion Tenge. 700 billion Tenge is about 9% of our total assets. I will reiterate – this is book value. The real value can be both higher and lower. The accounting figures and real market value of an asset – these are always two different things”, - said Nurlan Rakhmetov, emphasizing that it is not possible to forecast even estimated amount of funds received in course of privatization.

«Certainly, we have looked at the international experience: The USA, Western Europe, UK etc. Their privatization was aimed at attracting money. And huge amount of funds was received. Our goal is a bit different. Our goal is to make the economy more sustainable, make small and medium enterprises participate more in the economy. That is why money is not the top priority», - noticed the financial director of «Samruk-Kazyna» JSC.

One would recall that the Government of Kazakhstan jointly with «Samruk-Kazyna» has developed a Comprehensive privatization plan for 2014-2016 within the framework of executing the assignment of the Head of the State. In the period of 2014-2020 privatization of 106 assets and facilities is planned, 64 of them will be privatized by the end of 2014.

Currently action plan was approved to sell assets in august of 2014. According to this document, «Samruk-Kazyna» JSC will divest 15 companies.
