28 February 2018. Samruk-Kazyna has held briefing on "Improvement and reform of the procurement system" at the press center of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan.  The Fund introduces a number of changes in its procurement mechanism.

In particular, the list of goods purchased within the intercompany cooperation is reduced by more than 10 times. Thus, the list that covered 4.5 thousand items was reduced to 424. This means that more than 4,000 positions worth about KZT 300 billion are transferred to the competitive environment, small and medium-sized businesses.

In order to prevent abuse of overpricing for the remaining 424 positions, the Fund envisaged a mechanism for compulsory determination of average market prices for the purchase of goods worth over KZT120 million within the intercompany cooperation.

At the same time, Samruk-Kazyna plans to launch a new electronic procurement site that will create convenient conditions for using the electronic platform for customers and suppliers in July 2018. This platform will reduce cost and ensure transparency of purchases through Blockchain technology.
