The delegation of Kazakhstan held an informal meeting with talented Kazakhstanis who live and work in the USA. The meeting was held within the framework of the visit of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to New York at the session of the UN General Assembly. 

Kazakhstanis from all over the United States and even from European countries gathered to meet with the delegation of their native country. They are programmers Botagoz Koshkarova (Apple), Zhanibek Datbayev (Facebook), Alibek Datbayev and Ilya Sidorovich (Booking), investment specialists Anna Fokina (DCVC), Temirgali Makatov (McKinsey), Smaiyl Makyshev (Cedar Street Capital), Arina Kungeibayeva and Mariam Zhumadil (IFC), managers Adil Doschayev (Tesla), Asset Abdualiyev (TaskRabbit), Assel Tuleubayeva (Step), Adilkhan Kopabayev (Pfpchat). 

The representatives of Samruk-Kazyna JSC headed by Almassadam Satkaliyev, the CEO of the Fund, participated in the meeting. He spoke about the Fund’s plans for reducing its share in the economy of Kazakhstan to less than 5%, bringing the largest companies to IPO and privatization, switching to the investment holding model and finance large-scale infrastructure projects in the regions of Kazakhstan. 

The event was held in the format of an open dialogue. Representatives of the Kazakh diaspora stated the importance of creating data centers in Kazakhstan and development of modern types of energy, in particular hydrogen. Some participants presented their developments and startups, for example, the metaverse project and new types of learning in a playful way.

The Head of Samruk-Kazyna promised to study all the proposals and assess the prospects for their implementation in Kazakhstan. The Fund’s employees exchanged contacts with compatriots in order to keep in touch with them constantly.
