The capital’s Botanical Garden hosted the third annual Charity Samruk Marathon, a large—scale charity event organized on the initiative of the Samruk-Kazyna Fund.

This year’s marathon not only brought together a record number of participants, but also became an important step in the development of inclusive education in Kazakhstan.

The marathon raised about KZT200 million, which will be used to create inclusion classrooms for children with special educational needs. Speech therapists, speech pathologists and psychologists work in the classrooms, there are workshops and physical therapy rooms — everything necessary for full-fledged development and training.

“Today we are joining efforts for a good reason — raising funds for the opening of new inclusion classrooms for children with special educational needs. Last year, 1,200 people participated, but now there are about 3,000 participants. These are not only employees of the Samruk-Kazyna Group, but also residents of the city, businessmen, doctors, teachers, athletes and our partners. Thanks to you and the support of more than 50 partners, we have collected about KZT200 million!” - Nurlan Zhakupov, Chairman of the Management Board of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, said in his welcoming speech.

NCOC, Cameco, KPMG, Bilim Foundation and others supported the project.

In total, 2 distances were provided – for 5 and 10 km. Meirimdilik mekeni activity zone was also organized, which included master classes and games for children.

The winners received commemorative certificates and medals, enjoyed a pleasant summer morning and friendly rivalry over the distances.

In 2024, KZT127 million was raised at the charity marathon of the Group. More than 500 children with special needs have been given the opportunity to attend inclusion classrooms. In general, the Fund provides assistance to more than 700,000 Kazakhstanis annually.
