The project is being implemented in partnership with Masdar. Today, a ceremonial capsule-laying event marked the official launch of construction for the future energy facility.

The ceremony, held via teleconference, was attended by Nurlan Zhakupov, Chairman of the Management Board of Samruk-Kazyna JSC; Yerlan Akkenzhenov, Kazakhstan’s Minister of Energy; Yerbol Karashukeyev, Akim of the Zhambyl Region; and Mohamed Al Ramahi, Chief Executive Officer of Masdar. At the construction site, the project was officially launched by Kairat Maksutov, Chairman of the Management Board of Samruk-Energy JSC.

“The new wind power plant will not only strengthen the region’s energy security but also make a significant contribution to the development of Kazakhstan’s green energy sector,” Nurlan Zhakupov said in his welcoming remarks.

The total investment in the project amounts to USD 1.4 billion. Once commissioned, the wind power plant will generate approximately 3.4 billion kWh of electricity annually, providing clean energy to around 880,000 households.

The wind power plant is scheduled to be commissioned in 2029.
