The parties discussed the implementation of joint energy projects and the further expansion of strategic partnership.

Today, the partnership is advancing across several key areas:

• the conversion of Almaty CHP-2 to natural gas, one of Kazakhstan’s largest environmental projects;

• the development of renewable energy, including the Shelek Corridor wind farm;

• the construction of an additional power unit at the Karabatan combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant to supply electricity to the rapidly developing oil and gas petrochemical cluster, among other initiatives.

Following the meeting, Samruk-Kazyna Ondeu LLP and POWERCHINA SEPCO1 signed an EPC+F contract for the construction of the combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant at the Karabatan site.

The joint projects are aimed at modernizing Kazakhstan’s energy infrastructure, expanding green power generation, and strengthening the country’s energy security.
