29 July 2026
The international multisport tournament Games of the Future 2026 powered by Samruk-Kazyna has officially kicked off in Astana, introducing a new competition format that blends traditional sports with cutting-edge digital technologies. Samruk-Kazyna is the tournament’s title sponsor. The event will run through 9 August.
The tournament’s defining feature is its phygital format. In each discipline, competitors first face off in a digital environment using gaming platforms before continuing the contest in real-world sporting arenas. The final standings are determined by the combined results from both stages.
More than 800 athletes from 34 countries are competing in the tournament. Events are taking place at Astana’s premier sports venues. The programme features eight disciplines, including Phygital Football UFL presented by Samruk-Kazyna, phygital basketball, phygital combat, phygital shooter, phygital dance, as well as PC and mobile MOBA competitions and Battle Royale.
Games of the Future 2026 is a tournament where physical fitness, lightning-fast reflexes, strategic thinking, and digital skills are equally essential.
