The Public Council of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, chaired by Bolat Zhamishev, held a meeting to review the key areas of activity of KazMunayGas JSC (KMG).

In his presentation, KMG Chairman of the Management Board Askhat Khassenov reported that the company’s attributable oil and gas condensate production increased by 10% year-on-year in 2025, reaching 26.2 million tonnes. Oil refining volumes in Kazakhstan rose by 3.2% to 14.7 million tonnes.

In 2025, KMG also achieved a record level of light petroleum products output, producing 1.2 million tonnes more than in the previous year.

The company continues to expand its resource base. As part of its geological exploration programme, KMG is implementing 23 projects at various stages of development. Exploration efforts are focused primarily on deep horizons, underexplored stratigraphic complexes, and frontier areas.

Another strategic priority is the development of the petrochemical industry. Key projects include trunk pipelines, a gas separation complex, and a polyethylene production facility.

KMG is also advancing a number of decarbonisation initiatives, including a hybrid power plant in Zhanaozen, the Mirny project in the Zhambyl Region, and the production of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).

Digital transformation remains another key focus. Across all business segments, the company is implementing a comprehensive digital development programme and integrating artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. KMG’s AI portfolio currently comprises 50 projects.

According to the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), KMG remains Kazakhstan’s most valuable listed company, with a market capitalisation of USD 44.5 billion. As of 4 August 2026, KMG’s share price stood at KZT 34,650, compared with KZT 8,406 at the time of its IPO.
