The XI Spartakiad is taking place in Astana from 8 to 10 August, bringing together around 1,400 participants from across Kazakhstan. The event is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Samruk-Kazyna JSC.

The large-scale sporting event has brought together employees of the Fund from all regions of Kazakhstan, primarily those working in production and operational roles.

The programme features 14 sports, including team and individual disciplines such as volleyball, basketball, futsal, swimming, table tennis and chess, as well as national sports such as archery (sadaq atu), tug of war (arkan tartu) and others.

“Promoting sports is an integral part of our corporate culture and one of the key areas of the Group’s social responsibility. We invest in sports infrastructure, support grassroots and youth sports, and create opportunities for our employees and people across the country to lead healthy lifestyles,” said Nurlan Zhakupov, Chairman of the Management Board of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, at the opening of the Spartakiad.

As part of the XI Spartakiad, an environmental campaign titled “Taza Kazakhstan – Taza Sparta” is also being held. As part of the campaign, participants will collect plastic bottles for subsequent recycling.
