“Samruk-Kazyna” Recognized for Advancing Corporate Governance

Samruk-Kazyna JSC has received an award from Qazaq Independent Directors for its contribution to the development of corporate governance. Since 2007, the Association has been promoting the development of the independent director profession and advancing corporate governance practices in Kazakhstan.
The award was presented as part of the seminar “Advancing Corporate Governance Across the Fund’s Group: Practices, Priorities and AI Adoption,” held at Samruk-Kazyna.
Participants discussed modern approaches to the work of Boards of Directors and corporate secretaries, ways to improve the quality of management decisions, and the use of artificial intelligence in corporate governance. Board members and corporate secretaries of the Fund’s portfolio companies shared practical cases and best practices.
Special attention was given to an AI-powered agent for evaluating the performance of Boards of Directors — a new tool designed to improve the objectivity, quality, and effectiveness of such assessments.
The seminar also featured the Samruk-Kazyna Awards, recognizing best practices in corporate governance:
Corporate Governance Excellence Award — for outstanding achievements in corporate governance — KEGOC JSC.
Board Leadership Award — for leadership in the work of the Board of Directors — Nurzhan Baidauletov, Kazakhtelecom JSC.
Independent Director Excellence Award — for outstanding achievements as an independent director — Saya Mynsharipova, KazMunayGas NC JSC, QazaqGaz NC JSC, and Samruk-Kazyna Construction JSC.
Corporate Secretary Excellence Award — for outstanding achievements as a corporate secretary — Damir Sharipov, KazMunayGas NC JSC.
