With the support of Samruk-Kazyna, a new Art Lab has opened at the museum.
The space offers children and adults the opportunity to explore painting, graphic art, and decorative and applied arts, as well as take part in master classes and workshops.
The 110-square-metre space is also designed to accommodate children and teenagers with special needs.
The Art Lab was visited by Samruk-Kazyna Chairman of the Management Board Nurlan Zhakuov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balayeva, representatives of the Smithsonian Institution, as well as prominent Kazakh figures from the cultural and artistic community.
“I am confident that the Art Lab will become a hub for young talent, providing them with new opportunities for growth and creativity,” said Nurlan Zhakuov.
Another new feature is the museum’s upgraded digital portal. Its collections and exhibitions are now available online, while a 3D tour allows visitors to take a virtual walk through the museum’s galleries from anywhere in the world.
Earlier, with the support of Samruk-Kazyna and Samruk-Kazyna Trust, the museum underwent a major renovation, including upgrades to the roof and flooring, engineering systems, and exhibition halls.
In October, the museum plans to present an exhibition from the State Tretyakov Gallery, giving Kazakh audiences an opportunity to see works from one of the world’s largest art collections. The project is being implemented with the support of Samruk-Kazyna JSC and Rosatom Corporation.
