The parties discussed preparations for the 2027 festival, which will take place in Washington, D.C., and serve as an important platform for showcasing Kazakhstan’s culture to a global audience.
This is the second visit by representatives of the Smithsonian Institution to Kazakhstan. In August, American curators, researchers, experts and musicians are meeting with Kazakh specialists and performers, exploring the country’s traditional culture and working together to showcase it to an international audience.
The visit also includes preparations for a joint concert programme. One of the practical outcomes will be an open-air concert featuring Kazakh and American musicians at the Huns Ethno-Village in the Almaty Region.
