A two-day online workshop for representatives of Chinggis Khaan Sovereign Wealth Fund Holding LLC, Mongolia’s sovereign wealth fund, has started at Samruk-Kazyna JSC.
The event is a practical follow-up to agreements reached between the two countries. On April 21, 2026, during the state visit of the President of Mongolia to Kazakhstan, a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation was signed between Samruk-Kazyna and Chinggis Khaan Sovereign Wealth Fund (formerly Erdenes Mongol LLC) in the presence of President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
One of the key objectives of the memorandum is to exchange expertise and best practices, develop human capital and organize training programmes.
On September 3–4, 2026, Samruk-Kazyna JSC is holding a two-day online workshop for its Mongolian counterparts.
Samruk-Kazyna specialists will share practical experience in corporate governance, human resources management, investment projects, capital markets and privatization, procurement, social investment, and service processes.
In particular, Samruk-Kazyna Managing Director Saltanat Satzhan noted that Samruk-Kazyna JSC, Kazakhstan’s largest national holding company, manages approximately $88 billion in assets.
“Over the years, the Fund has accumulated extensive experience in asset management, corporate governance, investment activities, human capital development and other areas. We are pleased to have the opportunity to share this experience with our colleagues from Chinggis Khaan Sovereign Wealth Fund. It is important to us that the exchange of knowledge is not only theoretical, but above all practical. That is why, as part of the workshop, we are focusing on specific approaches and tools that we apply in our day-to-day work,” she said.
The programme includes seven thematic modules covering the key areas of the sovereign holding’s activities:
During the sessions, Samruk-Kazyna specialists presented practical approaches and tools used across the Group and shared their experience in managing a large and diversified portfolio of assets.
Particular attention will be paid to the corporate governance model and engagement with portfolio companies, approaches to assessing and implementing investment projects, human capital development, the organization of a unified procurement system, and improving operational efficiency.
A separate module is dedicated to capital markets and privatization, where Samruk-Kazyna’s experience in divesting state assets and taking portfolio companies to public capital markets through IPOs and SPOs was presented.
The Fund will also share its practical experience in social investment and charity, as well as in organizing service processes and consolidating support functions across the Group.
The exchange of experience between the two sovereign wealth funds is an important step towards strengthening the Kazakhstan-Mongolia partnership and laying the groundwork for further cooperation in national asset management, investment, and the implementation of joint projects.
