As part of the Kazakhstan–China Investment Forum, an agreement was signed on the joint development of a project to construct wind power plants with a total capacity of up to 1 GW (two wind power plants of 500 MW each) in the Zhetysu Region.

The document was signed by representatives of Samruk-Energy JSC, China Energy Overseas Investment Company Limited, and Overseas Investment Sany Renewable.

The project will increase electricity generation from renewable energy sources and strengthen the region’s energy infrastructure.
