Kazakhstan can strengthen its position in international postal transit by attracting additional mail flows from neighboring countries. This was discussed at the meeting of the management of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, Kazpost JSC and Russian Post JSC, which was held today in Nur-Sultan.

Almassadam Satkaliyev, the CEO of Samruk-Kazyna JSC, welcomed Russian colleagues and called Russian Post one of the main strategic partners of Kazpost. According to him, the Fund, as the Sole Shareholder of Kazpost, closely monitors its work and welcomes its achievements both in the domestic and international level.

The geographical position of Kazakhstan has predetermined its role as the most important hub connecting Russia with China, Uzbekistan and other countries. Within the framework of this cooperation, last year, the Kazpost transit warehouse was opened in a pilot mode on the territory of the Khorgos-Eastern Gate SEZ on the border of Kazakhstan and China, from where transit international mail shipments to the Russian Federation were launched. Due to the pandemic, the volume of these shipments temporarily decreased, but now they are recovering.

“We hope to increase the volume of transit international mail to Russia through the transit warehouse. We are ready to continue further cooperation and use the great transit potential of our states to attract additional mail flows from neighboring countries,”  the Head of Samruk-Kazyna said.

Maxim Akimov, the Director General of the Russian Post, and Serik Saudabayev, the CEO of Kazpost, who were present at the meeting, called the dialogue constructive and meaningful.
