The Samruk-Kazyna Fund to Have Joined the Zero Injuries Concept “Vision Zero”

Samruk-Kazyna JSC, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the International Association of Social Security (ISSA) have signed today a trilateral memorandum of understanding. The Fund is registered as a participant in the Vision Zero Concept.
The global Vision Zero Concept is aimed at achieving zero injuries and combines three areas: safety, occupational health and the well-being of workers at all levels of production. The main idea of this concept is that accidents at work occur for a specific reason. Thanks to the formation of an active culture of prevention, these causes can be eliminated, and the accidents at work, injuries and occupational diseases caused by them can be prevented.
The Samruk-Kazyna Group of Companies has proclaimed the 2022 as the Year of Occupational Safety and Health. The Fund and its portfolio companies strive to reduce the risk of injury based on the “zero tolerance” principle, improve the work to ensure personal safety and trouble-free production, increase awareness and culture of safe work, as well as the introduction of the best world practices in this area. The companies of the holding are working on digitalization of HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) processes and staff development. Over the past three years, the number of occupational injuries in the Fund’s companies has decreased by 35%.
To date, more than 300 enterprises have joined the Vision Zero Concept in the Republic of Kazakhstan, including the Fund’s portfolio companies: JSC NAC Kazatomprom, KTZh JSC, Kazpost JSC and KazMunayGas JSC.
