The Working Visit of the Management of "Samruk-Kazyna" to the Production Facilities of "KazMunayGas" in Atyrau and Mangistau Regions

Almassadam Satkaliyev, the CEO of "Samruk-Kazyna" JSC, during his working trip on May 12-13, 2021, visited the production enterprises of JSC "NC "KazMunayGas" in Atyrau and Mangistau regions.

On May 12, a meeting was held with Makhambet Dosmukhambetov, the Akim of Atyrau region, discussing implementation and development of investment projects in the oil and gas, energy industry, social and economic activities of "KazMunayGas" subsidiaries.

A tour of the territory and ad hoc meeting was held at the construction site of the Integrated Gas Chemical Complex. As Alik Aidarbayev, the CEO of KMG informed, today the progress of construction of the plant for polypropylene production exceeded 86%.

By now, the foundation and concrete work are completed at the plant, as well as installation of underground systems, metal structures, industrial pipelines and equipment is under way. Construction is planned to be completed by the end this year, and start of commissioning is scheduled for Q1 2022. The plant will help Kazakhstan to produce up to 500 thousand tons of polypropylene per year.

During the visit to the construction site, the future digital warehouse of finished products, being built with the participation of DHL, the logistics market leader, has been also presented, and the progress of digitalization of the polypropylene plant has been reported.

The delegation got acquainted with readiness of related infrastructure facilities - the water treatment and wastewater treatment plant of Karabatan Utility Solutions LLP, the operation of the 310 MW steam and gas turbine power plant and the compressed air and nitrogen production unit of Air Liquid Karabatan Tech Gases LLP.

The CEO of "Samruk-Kazyna" JSC instructed JSC "NC "KazMunayGas" to continue further creation of petrochemical plants in Kazakhstan.

At Atyrau Oil Refinery, opportunities for production of new export types of products have been presented. As a result of gradual modernization, today Atyrau Refinery is one of the high-tech industries, with a Nelson index of 13. During the inspection of the plant, the delegation has visited the construction site of the new open-type mechanical treatment facilities (MTF), the 1st stage of construction of which will be completed in 2021. Implementation of the TAZALYQ project with construction of the closed channel for standard-treated water and reclamation of evaporation fields minimizes the harmful impact on the environment. The ecological effect of implementation of new MTF is elimination of 8000 m2 of open areas for evaporation of oil products and return to own production of 15% of treated wastewater, from reclamation of evaporation fields - elimination of negative impact on the atmosphere, groundwater, local flora and fauna.

On May 13, the meeting with the management of Tengizchevroil LLP was held in Atyrau, where the progress of large-scale investment projects to increase oil production was presented.

At the meeting at Embamunaigas JSC, issues of production and social and economic activities, vaccination of personnel were discussed. TheCompanypresented to the guests own workingsin digital transformation. Introduction of innovative methods of collecting and processing information reduced costs and increased return on investments. The “intellectual field” project was highly appreciated among the oil industry workers of the CIS.

On May 13, in Aktau, the meeting was held with Serikbai Trumov, the Akim of Mangistau region. Issues of implementation of production and investment plans were discussed with the management of Mangistaumunaigaz JSC and subsidiaries.

Working meetings on the current activities were also held during visits to LLP JV Caspi Bitum, Aktau Commercial Sea Port, LLP NMSC Kazmortransflot and Port Kuryk LLP.
